"Recover more quickly by 'rebuilding' the brain..." This idea of ADs "helping" in the cases of stroke has been around for a while already - branding it as helpful enabled them to tap into even more profits. Meanwhile, the real, more effective and safe methods of treating strokes remain untapped, b/c there's no money in them.

Yeah, they’ve been using antidepressants to “treat” stroke for years. Disturbing, isn’t it? My guess is that the ADs help temporarily the way cocaine would help temporarily – increases some neuronal activity and some neurogenesis. But…..then you have to pay the piper for the activating effect, and we know that some of the neurogenesis that occurs is not good. Using ADs this way is a time bomb.

For that reason, shamanism is closely connected with suffering. One must suffer the disintegration of one's own system of thought in order to perceive a new world in the higher space."

Exactly so. Also, the patients and their families, and doctors, will remember this possible initial improvement, and the serious worsening down the line notwithstanding, they will say that "the drugs help".

Right, there's probably some kind of name for that particular memory bias. Maybe Mike or Junior will know....

I would hardly be surprised when those "doctors" would issue that antidepressants could bring the dead to life...
Recovering from the ravages of withdrawal after 5 years on Paxil/Seroxat, originally prescribed for stress and, looking backward, PTSS.
Though it is hardly possible to get something positive from the utter hell of repeated c/t's and protracted w/d, all of this unnecessary, I still believe in the possiblity to emerge from this as a healed, wiser human being.
