LOL – bag of potatoes. Yeah, that’s scary – now the doctors don’t need *any* info to hand out a script???

That’s good and interesting you got confirmation about the altitude.

Loved the pics! Those are some funny birds. And I see you're eating your salmon -- good girl!

Oh boy, what a dreadful week! I had a continual headache for 7 days in a row. I got so fed up, I contemplated that we just go back home. After 3 days, I got worried, as it is normal to have a 3 day h/ache but not 7! I tried panadol next day with no effect so then wondered if it was the bed or perhaps the swimming and maybe inflammation so then ibuprofen without effect. Next day I took codeine and actually got worse. Then I was quite despondent and decided the following day to try the panadol and ibuprofen together and finally that night I saw some improvement. The bed still seems to prevent me from sleeping, so I have got a foam thing to put on top to make it a bit softer. See how I go tonight.

Aw, gee, gD. Not fair! Is it sinus? In which case, you might want to try sleeping half-sitting up. Or is your neck in an unsupported position? Are you getting enough fresh air in the camper at night? Is your in-house masseur doing his treatments? :)

Thanks Sheila for your suggstions - you could be right about the air flow - we had everything pretty much shut up bar one little vent because of the cold. I had also tried 3 diffrent pillows. NO, he wasn't doing my neck because my lower back, butt and legs ache so much and that takes long enough! ANyway, I gave them a miss for the night and got him to do my neck. The base of my spine seemed okay, but he foun an extremely sore spot a bit lower down, above shoulder blade on the spine, the bone that was very sore. nOt sure if that is the cause, but put some tiger balm on it.

I did notice I was spitting up again each morning - this happens from time totime and and get straight onto raw garlic and it usually fixes that. Not sure if that is related to headaches. I did eat scones and have a cuppaccino at a take-away, so have noted that.

Aww, a snugly bird....Well, there are a lot of changed variables, gD. You're doing a lot of good things to problem-solve. Blessings to your hubby for being such a good sport! Massage helps enormously.

Hi again everyone. We are back home again. What a shocker of a trip! I left with a headache, had 5 headaches each week (with 2 good days) and came home with a headache and again next day.

I have had a couple of good days since then so it will be wait and see if this was just my 2 good days or I continue to settle back down and improve in that area.

Who knows, I might have had those headaches even if I was at home, so it was better I was out and about with them I guess, seeing some pretty sights!

I seem to love old tumble down houses - perhaps they remind me of myself! I loved the pretty autumn trees also.

You and I have a lot of taper symptoms in common – intense muscle tightness and headache. You’re taking a lot of good steps, especially your husband’s targeted massage and your relaxation exercises (which you didn’t do on vacation, so that’s a variable.)

Two things I would seriously consider are – a chiropractic adjustment maybe once a month, and do you do stretching? I stretch twice a day, and I am much worse if I skip it.

    Nice pics! Thank you!

We have been home a week now and it was a bit better with only the 2 regular headaches. Other days I had a funny sort of head, like a headache coming on, a pain, just weird, not right, hard to explain. I got another neck ache and figured it was the pillow.

Where is yo muscle tightness Shelia? I don't want to go to a chiro. However, the dayyou wrote that ppost, I considered phisio! It is too expensive so I got hubby to massage and used voltaren and after a couple of days it came good.

We did go and buy 2 new pillows - both hopeless - huge, way too big and won't even fit in the pillowcases! They won't take them back due to hygiene, so I didn't want to buy any more. Anyway, in the night I had this great idea to cut them open and take half the filling out, so now we have 4 new pillows! I still couldn't sleep and resorted to the old pillow. I like it, it is a bit too high and bit too firm, though. I got ALL the pillows out from around the hous and tried them all and they were too low, too soft, too high, too hard - I even had several my dad had given us - I suspect now he went through the same problem I'm having! Hubby reckons I am the princess who slept on 10 mattresses and could feel a pea under one of them! Funny, but true, I am so sensitive to different beds, etc.

I am now wondering if it is the fact of my nervous system being so sensitive, so I will try one more night with 3 of the pillows that are "so-so".

I did do my exercises in the van (just a few I couldn't do as I use a ball for them) but most of them and also did my stretching. I intend to go back to our last trip away and see how I was back then and if I had all those headaches.

I also did my brething exercises while away and contine to do them at least twice a day and more if necssary.
