Congratulations Sheila! This must be very exciting for you! So well done! An incredible amount of work you've done and it proves just how quickly one can begin to reap the rewards of moving past one's fears and into one's passions.

It must feel freeing to experience the validation...........as you mentioned "no longer isolated" within your own mind. That's HUGE!!

    Wishing you continued success!

That is a very interesting point, Samsara. You know, we have all talked for years on pp and SA about how w/d anxiety is not about anything real -- the thing you're afraid of is either an illusion or grossly inflated -- and that helped somewhat. But, IAWP is adding a new piece. We’re trying to say that pursuing one’s passions promotes healing. And you’re pointing out that moving into one’s passions can pay off quite quickly.

Now, pursuing one’s passions is impossible at times in early w/d, and nearly impossible at other times throughout recovery, but if we can help people to do even a tiny bit on their passions earlier on and give them lots of support for it, maybe that’s one way we can mitigate this horrendous ordeal sooner…..

It’s a real leap of faith, but you’re right – moving past one’s fears and into one’s passions pays off surprisingly well.

"An initiation into shamanic healing means a devaluation of all values, an overturning of the profane world, a peeling away of inveterate handed-down notions of the world, liberation from everything preconceived. For that reason, shamanism is closely connected with suffering. One must suffer the disintegration of one's own system of thought in order to perceive a new world in the higher space."

Absolutely. Finding, something even small that you can concentrate a bit on, helps our brains recover faster. In the early WD it is hardly possible, but, at some point, you are able to do this more and more. The feeling and realization that by adding even a tiny piece at a time you build something bigger in the long run motivates you to... keep adding those, first small, then increasingly bigger pieces...
    Keep walking. Just keep walking.
