But, it has already begun, my friend! There are many forces and friends behind the scenes helping us already! Including helping our Chief Emoticon Hunter....

"An initiation into shamanic healing means a devaluation of all values, an overturning of the profane world, a peeling away of inveterate handed-down notions of the world, liberation from everything preconceived. For that reason, shamanism is closely connected with suffering. One must suffer the disintegration of one's own system of thought in order to perceive a new world in the higher space."

Don't be scared Alex...I passed through the same path than our friend Sheila and I could do it. You will be strong enough to do it too!

Alex -- Some people have no trouble at all getting off these meds. Some have medium-level trouble. Some have a terrible time, like me. We have not found any way to predict who will have what kind of journey. But, it is a very good sign that you were able to get off the Clonazepam and the alcohol many years ago.

Now, if you decide to get off the Effexor, you should learn from my experience and do some things differently. I tapered as fast as I could barely tolerate, and I pushed myself hard, and I took Prozac to "help." You should do none of these things. Also, I didn't prepare my body and my life. It would have been better if I had started Omega-3, magnesium, Vit. C, and other supplements for a couple of months first, improved my diet, set aside time for healing and stress reduction.

Many, many people have had an easier, faster recovery than I. But, I fully support you if you decide you do not want to get off the Effexor at this time. And, you can still be a member of our little community even if that's what you decide to do. One of the main focuses of our site is helping people discover and pursue their passions -- whatever they decide to do about their medications.
