    Hi Sheila,

I couldn't bring up the link you put for the story mentioned above. The signal is bad here and the page can't seem to load. I did look up the story on a general search and I don't understand the connection of the story to iodine.
I just briefly overviewed the site I brought up on it. I realize you haven't read the article yet but is smacks of occultism. As a Christian I don't entertain anything with spiritistic overtones so I will pass on this article. But thank you for the suggestion.

Joy -- Does your reading link iodine with cellular water balance? Because I'm also wondering if Ed is regaining normal fat in his legs?

Personally, I love your farmer-approach to supplementation!

That's really remarkable progress on your w/d. I think what I'll do is read the links you found on iodine and maybe read that Romano bio.

I enjoy talking to you about this too. I have written down your Omega-3 dose change, and I will be keeping it for possible future research.

Now, just to be devil's advocate, you had gone up on your Omega-3, and that takes awhile to show effect, and then keeps showing more and more effect over time. That could be part of your recent improvements.

I wonder what the neuro specialist has to say about iodine.

I'm not sure what occult story you're referring to. If it's the Jacques Romano story, JSYK, he was an iodine health nut, who was phenomenally physically healthy and helped a lot of other people heal physically. He also was highly intuitive, you might say psychic, but there's nothing unwholesome about him. And the bio is written by a psychiatrist from a highly researchy point of view. No pressure, JSYK.

How does one know if one has taken too much iodine?

    Hi Sheila,

Thank you for your message. I just learned a few min ago from Biscotaki's note that this site will be closing. I see there is a thread that i had better read. I am very sad to hear that. I will talk to you on here until it is done, but please know how very very much I have appreciated this site, the lovely people on here and you in particular. You are a smart, compassionate lady that has so much to offer the world.
Will you be on another website as I would like to keep in touch if you are wanting to. My email address is on your blog.

My reading of Iodine tells me that there is no clear research on any of it. The research and amounts have seemed have been aimed at stopping goiter.
On one site I looked at today there was some indication that it does effect multiple sites on your body. I didn't come up with any clear connection to water balance but my intuition tells me that the iodine/salt has to effect it. I am watching it happen with Ed and I think it is more than fat as the muscles are pliable, smooth and not as ropey and hard..however it possibly could be effecting the fat too.

I am nervous about the iodine for myself. I have a pain in my side that I thought was maybe gallbladder but the sickness from that subsided and today I have a pain in what feels like my kidney on my side and back. I think I will maybe move to a strong version of kelp. I don't want to risk stressing my body more than I have too. As far as Omega 3's...yes, the feeling better can be associated with that...very possible. I was feeling the oil was bothering me even though it was helping me too. I need some time to tell and work my way around to find out how to address it.

I feel that more is needed for all of us in w/d..I feel the omega 3, as important as it is, isn't the complete story. I don't know what is...but I am suspecting it has to do with trace elements. I have very little knowledge but I think the answer in w/d will involve a combination of things.
Making sure our bodies can carry out the essentials work it needs to do.

    1. Take in of nutrition and address deficiencies that standard medicine doesn't even recognize. (I have little faith in the recommended levels)
    2. Digest, breakdown and use of nutrition
    3. Release of toxins from the body, including elimination.
    4. Hydration
    5. exercise (which I don't do..) of mind and body and
    6. meditation/relaxation and psycological help and support.

And all done in as close to natural as possible. And I am sure I have missed some essentials. My knowledge is limited.
The problem that makes things harder is that people may still have mental health issues to deal with as well as w/d...although I would love to see everyone's mental health issues..every case of depression/anxiety be first looked at through the lens of deficiencies as well as building the body to deal with the emotional issues with the Omega 3's which has a whole lot of science behind it.

The farmer approach to supplements LOL...I know it sounds crazy doesn't it? but Ed has a very good sense of what works for animals in spite of not having science to back it up..but experience. An example..In Wales, sheep often have problems with miscarriages..and push out the womb. It was understood that they needed iodine and that supplementation would stop or lower the incidence of this happening. (I hope I am paraphrasing this accurately) He says that if you asked a vet they would not agree probably..however, ask a farmer and they would take that approach. He has so much knowledge that it is interesting to talk to him.
If people were sheep..with all the sickness we have..the farmer would be broke.

We went to see the doctor today for Ed. Dr. last saw him 1 month ago and then went on vacation. He had made referrals and while away all the referrals had written back to dr. to say that it isn't their field..The doctor, bless him, was afraid to see us as wasn't sure what to say to us. He watched with amazement as Ed walked in the door with no stick, not limp.
The doc admitted to knowing nothing about iodine other than it is used for thyroid. Said he would read up on it. some discrepencies in blood work..somethign in the red blood cells that he said wasn't anything..and something else that was just outside limits.. We will get copies of reports next week. I suspect these issues will be cleared up next blood test...ok hope is maybe the word. very much hope. But doctor was amazed at the difference and the strength back in his legs.

Sheila, I don't know if I am making good progress on w/d or not..really, don't know..I don't feel like I am. But from listening to other people I feel that I expect it to happen faster than it seems to be..and that I am not as sick. However, personally, my life revolves around how I am feeling these days.

Because of your confusion over the story you recommended..it makes me think that I have brought up a wrong link. The one I checked stated clearly that it was paranormal/occult. When my signal is stronger I will use the site you suggested and relook at it.

Sorry about the long message....you might need an eye compress after all this..ha,ha.
    xoxo

Joy -- The answer to w/d will definitely be several things and the right blend will vary from person to person. This is one of those complex syndromes that defies a magic-bullet or one-size-fits-all approach.

I would definitely like to keep in touch, but I'm confused -- your email is on my blog? Is it in one of the comments? This is a hard week and my computer died to top it all off so I don't have access to all my data. Tell me again where your email is or email it to my blog gmail, please.

Great about Ed's farmer knowledge! Well, you and Ed may end up writing the new book on iodine....
