Iggy, everyone here understands what you are going through. You are not alone and definitely not ruining the board. If anything I'm very proud of you for saying things that I myself am not able to say. When people respond it helps me too. :-) So thank you.

Oh, the Tudors and their England are fascinating. There was a Masterpiece Theatre series on Henry VIII that everyone was into in the ‘70s –

and a friend and I would dress up and act it out. OMG, we loved it.

But, I don’t think this is just escapism on your part, Iggy. I think it’s something more.

I’ve had passions like this in adulthood, too, starting with a movie or play or news item, and turning into a months’-long personal research project They’re wonderful. And I think they’re more than just entertainment. They’re breadcrumbs on the trail to your truest passions. Don’t worry about trying to figure it out. Just keep following the breadcrumbs, ie follow that *feeling*, whenever you feel absorbed by something. It will lead to something, even though we don’t know what yet.

and when you dressed up Sheila, who were you? I can see you as a flighty Catherine Howard or perhaps the kind and gentle Jayne Seymor?

The Six Wives of Henry VIII - Ha! One person from my family loved it back then. Need to check if it's on Youtube and in what languages.

Oh, no……the canny and powerful Anne Boleyn! ;)

Iggy -- Have you read Fiona Buckley’s “Ursula Blanchard” mystery series? It takes place in Elizabethan England and has a woman protagonist who solves mysteries. It involves the Court. I recommend it!
